An ambulance, or medevac is a vehicle used to transport sick or injured people to, from or between hospitals. This term commonly pertains to the road going emergency ambulances that are associated to an emergency medical service. Where this ambulance truck cannot reach, an air ambulance or a medevac responds. Choosing this particular service requires that one considers several factors. These are: aircraft safety – choose one with a good reputation in the industry because this is the only way you can check its safety; medical facilities – check whether the aircraft is equipped with facilities similar to the ICUs of the hospitals; flight staff and medical crew – these people should be trained to handle emergency medical situations; immediate deployment – the service should be deployed within two hours after receiving authorization; and price – while you cannot compromise price with the quality of service, you can still make an effort to look for a service that gives the best value for your money.
