A Party for My Parents

My parents always come up with crazy ideas. Often they make me cringe. When I was younger it was very awkward for me. However now I realise that is just their unique sense of humour. They are very much children of the sixties and they grow up during the peace and love vibe of that era.

In order to celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary we decided to throw a big party for them. We knew that they would love it if we got creative with ideas for the party. So we decided to make it a fancy dress costume party with a theme of “We love the sixties”. We asked everyone who was coming to the party to dress up in costumes with a sixties theme. So, as you can imagine, hippy fancy dress costumes were a very popular choice. I decided to be a bit different and picked a sixties style police uniform. I am not sure if my parents liked that!
